Two of hip hop's most respected artists, rapper Royce Da 5’9” and producer DJ Premier are leading the way with their latest project, PRhyme. Individually they both have long been established in hip-hop culture and are now fulfilling their artistic destiny.
Their first full-length collaboration is celebrated for its true hip-hop makeup and its overall purpose. This is one of the reasons they started making music in the first place, and why they formed the group PRhyme. Releasing their critically acclaimed album in December, the record contains nine tracks and features some of the most prolific artists in the industry, including Common, Jay Electronica, Killer Mike, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Mac Miller and Dwele. In addition, composer extraordinaire Adrian Younge was enlisted, making the album a truly standout project. As Royce Da 5'9" said, "Our thing is to teach people how to not skim through the albums because their attention span is short. I want people to appreciate the fact that we didn’t compromise in lieu of the environment. In order to try to change the way that people digest music, we had to take a leap of faith.”
Following a huge North American tour, the duo will make their highly anticipated debut UK performance at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on 20th April. This is set to be a very special intimate show.
