Of all it's sub genres, House’s most powerful branch is definitely progressive and electro. The scenes have continued to grow over the last few years and with the likes of Tiesto , Hardwell and Deadmau5 tearing up festivals around the world it is definitely on the up. What’s impressive about the genre is the continuity of the DJ’s to come up with original big drops followed by commanding vocals. The movement is pioneered in Sweden especially. With their three most famous sons ‘The Swedish House Mafia’ electro house has started to see chart success. After their split the three members went their alternative ways eager to work on new projects and develop new talents. Sebestian Ingrosso was the first to do this as he picked up a young DJ by the name of Alessandro Linblad also known as Alesso. In the space of 24 months the young DJ has shot to unprecedented heights.
Signed to Ingrosso’s uncle's label the young producer has rolled out several mammoth hits such as Calling (Lose my mind) , Years and a fantastic remix of Titanium by David Guetta. Alesso is now a must at all music festivals. Just watching one of his sets is sure to send shivers down ones spine. Crowds are thrown into ecstasy with superb pyrotechnic displays and intensive dance friendly beats. These all combine to make an awe inspiring show. Recently Alesso has found a perfect vocalist for the elctro house genre around which he can tailor his music around. One Republics Ryan Tedder is once again the vocal driving force behind Alesso’s hit ‘If I lose my self-tonight’. The Swede most definitely has the golden touch and is churning out hit after hit. It seems he can do no wrong. He didn’t tarnish his reputation in the slightest by producing a flawless set when he took to the world famous essential mix. Every artist wants to collaborate with him and it’s not long before we see another club favourite!
