Artist of the Month: Liz-E
One of SGN Ltd's latest signings, Liz-E is a pioneer for women in DnB
Elizabeth Welch, aka Liz-E, looks set to become one of the few big female names in DnB. Growing up in Milton Keynes, she first discovered her love for music attending raves like Helter Skelter and Slamming Vinyl around 2003.
Working hard to outdo all her male friends, she landed gigs in various clubs and eventually earned a long term, weekly radio show on Intobeats. She signed to Smokin Riddims and her success grew with the release of “The Witches” and “Time and Space”.
A few of her tracks were sent in to Radio 1’s Friction, and after he played The Last Time on his show her success really took off. The Last Time is an uplifting piece of liquid DnB, with soulful vocals, ethereal strings, twinkling piano and a powerful bassline – it’s hardly surprising that Friction contacted her to request that she release the track on SGN ltd.
With increasing airtime on Radio 1 and more and more gigs coming in, Liz-E has worked hard to ensure everything she releases is pure quality and is a great representation of what women can do in the world of DnB.
