2013 is quickly becoming a popular year for artists to announce musical comebacks. First Justin Timberlake ends his 6-year music hiatus by releasing The 20/20 Experience, and now Daft Punk has announced that they’ll be releasing a new studio album in the summer, their first since 2005’s Human After All (not counting the surprisingly-fantastic Tron: Legacy soundtrack)
Titled Random Access Memories, the fourth outing from the French EDM duo will contain 13 tracks, one of which is a collaboration with Nile Rodgers of Chic. If that’s not enough, Daft Punk’s also released a short teaser for the album, which you can check out below:
If the teaser’s anything to go by, Random Access Memories will see Daft Punk returning to a funky, disco-esque sound. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, considering some of their best material came from the Discovery era.
Random Access Memories is slated for a May 20 release, and is available for pre-order on iTunes.
