Coco Chanel will have yet another great actress to impersonate her. After Audrey Taotou, Shirley McLane, Anna Mouglalis and others, its now the turn of Keira Knightley, who was personally chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first boutique of the French label.
Chanel first opened in Deauville in 1913 and originally only offered customers a range of hats to buy, since then the company has gone on to expand into one of the most well known companies in the fashion industry. The short film directed by Karl Lagerfeld will be focused on his relationship with Coco Chanel. After the success of their first millinery shop, Chanel opened another boutique in Biarritz. The company later opened their head offices in the historic area of Rue Cambon, Paris.
Knightley has since had a long history with Chanel having been the face of the perfume Coco Mademoiselle since 2006. The media have often made comparisions with her and Coco for her grace and resemblance for the designer.
Can't wait to see the film? Here's the beautiful first advertisement for the Coco Mademoiselle perfume from 2008 featuring Keira with the soundtrack by Joss Stone.
