The hottest new female rap star in the game hailing from Australia via Atlanta, Iggy Azalea, has spent the last year turning heads while earning the respect of the music industry and hip-hop heavyweights alike.
Iggy’s cult classic mixtape Ignorant Art catapulted her into the limelight in 2011; she swiftly followed up with the six-track Glory EP, featuring artists such as Mike Posner, B.O.B and Pusha T. Iggy featured on Steve Aoki’s incredible hit ‘Beat Down’ before releasing her TrapGold mixtape, featuring pristine production from Diplo and FKi and unmistakable slick delivery and double-time flows from Iggy herself.
Following her signing to Mercury Records, 2013 promises to be huge year for Iggy. April 1st sees the first official UK release ‘Work’ from her highly anticipated debut album The New Classic, featuring production from The Invisible Men and 1stdown of FKi scheduled for a summer 2013 release. Defining Iggy’s journey to this moment, ‘Work’ is laced with brooding beats, strutting the line “no money, no family, 16 in the middle of Miami”: a statement of her undeniable force.
Iggy is currently supporting legendary rap star Nas on the European leg of his Life is Good tour. Having sold out headline shows across the US and Europe Iggy is set to take her life show to the next level armed with her signature crisp flow, unrelenting energy, attitude and confidence that excels her years.
