Chart Update

Other | Thursday 14th March 2013 | Fiona

The London four-piece Bastille stormed into the top spot on the album charts this weekend with their debut album “Bad Blood”, they missed out on a number one with their single “Pompeii” a couple of weeks ago, being beaten only by Justin Timberlake himself, with his newest single “Mirrors”. Although, in the mid-week chart update, it looks like JT will be knocked off the Number 1 position by none other than Nicole Scherzinger, with her latest release “Boomerang”.

Bastille don’t look as though they’ll be holding onto the top spot for a consecutive week, as David Bowie’s new album, The Next Day, is heading in the direction of being 2013’s fastest selling album to date, as it is currently outselling the top 5 combined! If Bowie manages to hold out ‘till Sunday, it will be the singer’s first chart topper in 20 years. The record is Bowie’s 27th studio album and his first material in nearly a decade. He is currently out selling Bon Jovi’s new release, What About Now, by three copies to one.
