This is Chime for Change a new initiative that has as founders no less than the actress Salma Hayek, the creative director of Gucci Frida Giannini and Beyoncè. Officially launched the 28th of February at Long Beach , California, the project revolve around three fundamental issues : education, health and justice, which belong by right to every woman, in every corner of the world. Salma Hayek during her presentation speech said that the main task of Chime for Change will be to "focus the spotlight on those who are fighting for education, health and justice for women and girls. We will do this by sharing the stories of real people who struggle to support the rights of women. ".
The italian fashion house Gucci is really into charity : since 2005 they regularly donates a percentage of their revenues to UNICEF, for which they also organizes an annual campaign in support of education and health, fight against hunger and various diseases -such as help orphans and children affected by HIV- and prevention programs to clean water.
With three women like Beyoncè, Frida and Salma it was inevitable the big attention to the project from the press, and immediately many celebrities and female journalists gave their support to the campaign for women.
