Karl Lagerfeld turns Germany and France into lesbians

If there is anything that can be said about Karl Lagerfeld, it is that he sure knows how to provoke and push people’s buttons. Recently he has been asked to draw a sketch for the very first fashion edition of the German newspaper called ‘Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung’. The drawing was created in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty, which stands for the day Germany and France put their differences aside and reconciled. Well, if anyone is up for the job of creating such a politically coloured sketch, it must be Karl Lagerfeld. With fashion being his prominent trade, the drawing was expected to be quite edgy and daring, and indeed it was.
His sketch shows a lesbian couple holding hands with two children hiding behind them. When taking a closer look, it can be seen that these women are in fact symbolizing Germany and France, and the children behind them represent the countries’ current leaders, Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel. Despite the fact that the picture portrays a nice and positive message, there will unfortunately always be some people who do not like seeing their country portrayed as a lesbian. Oh well, Karl Lagerfeld definitely helped the gay community get another step ahead to complete acceptance and we can only thank him for that.
