New Major Lazer release- but not the one we were hoping for…

Major Lazer will once again be putting their new album ‘Free the Universe’ on hold, but they’ve put out a new EP, ‘Lazer Strikes Back Vol. 1’, which is available to download for free. Diplo and friends have assured us through their facebook page that they will be freeing the universe as planned, but not this month, stating that:
‘The upcoming album, "FREE THE UNIVERSE," has been kidnapped by General Rubbish and we all must embark on an epic journey to upset his evil plan’
So, er… that should clear things up then. The album follows the release of ‘Jah No Partial’ and ‘Get Free’, the latter coming out back in May to huge acclaim from both critics and fans. This single comes from the place where Jamaica meets Brooklyn and finds absolute summertime perfection, and the new album will surely be worth the wait if it’s anything to go by. In the meantime, here’s the new EP:
