Interactive Light Cocoons?

Although this may sound like an idea born from Lady GaGa’s mothership, new kids on the Purity Ring have taken the viral world by storm, devising and encompassing the once simple bedroom electric set and morphing it into something artistic and hands-on.
Late 2012 saw the Canadian duo of Megan James (vocals) and Corin Roddick (instruments) branching out onto English shores from media platforms such as Tumblr and into the eyes and ears of Britain's youth. Landing interviews with Radio 1, the hub of many an ‘indie youth’ the band set out to make the electronica scene more approachable and less tedious.
With the tech-savvy Roddick and ever creative James pairing up, the ‘light cocoon’ was born.
Made from scratch along with much of their D.I.Y set, the bulbs react to touch and bounce back sounds into two computers, releasing a light and ever characteristic, haunting synth-sound. Roddick stated in one interview that he could just use a midi synth, but wouldn’t want to watch that and was convinced we wouldn't either.
So, perhaps this is the future of the electronica genre. Move over one man DJ sets, a hype man just isn't enough, not for Purity Ring anyway.
