Energy on the runway

Other | Thursday 14th February 2013 | Nani

With gorgeous gowns and famous names, New York Fashion Week hit us again with beautiful pieces and stand out looks. With B Michael America bringing Upper East Side NY fashionista to the shows and Anna Sui using every colour and every print imaginable, the entertainment never stopped.

With B Michael America, gowns were the name of the game. Floor-length looks that seek to perfectly fit a lady on her way to a gala, heavily contrasted with Rachel Zoe’s woman on a mission style. Using faux fur and leather, Zoe brought businesswoman chic to the shows that we expect will greatly influence the upcoming fall and winter seasons. We all hate layering during the cold weather, which is why Rachel’s line is a dream as it brings all the warmth without all the bulk.

With the most dramatic opening, Michael Kors revealed an energetic collection that looked into the future. With advanced army prints and leather/fabric combinations, Kors put on an extremely strong show that will please any fashion enthusiast. One of the best we’ve seen so far, Michael made sure all his looks were ready-to-wear appropriate and succeeded as all the pieces look like they could be stripped off the runway and used on the highstreet to show you off as the fashion forward individual you are.

Today is the last day of the holy fashion week, and we’re excited to make a full review of the best shows we’ve seen. Let us know what your favourite was, we already have a few up our sleeves (sleeves that are probably bold in colour and heavy in print).
