The Birmingham legends have announced the title of their first album with Ozzy Osbourne in 35 years.
He may be known these days for shuffling around his house in a daze, but Ozzy Osbourne has returned to the studio to record Black Sabbath’s first album since 1978’s “Never Say Die!” The record will also feature original members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, with Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk replacing former drummer Bill Ward.
Iommi confirmed news of the album, titled 13, in November, stating “We've written the 15 songs and we've played them all, but now at the moment we're recording them. We're about six tracks in at the moment.” It has been recorded primarily in Los Angeles and produced by seven-time-Grammy winner Rick Rubin.
The band will tour New Zealand and Australia in advance of the album, and will also play Ozzfest in Japan, with further dates still to be announced. This follows their awesome headline slot at Download last year. Ozzy himself tended to struggle at times – which is probably to be expected – but the old rockers have clearly still got it.
