Review: Sonic Boom Six in London
Thursday 22nd November 2012 | Laura
Yesterday the Manchester’s band gave their fans an amazing performance. With the support of Imperial Leisure and Tyranasaurus Alan, who heat the audience with their brass sounds, SB6 took over the stage of the Borderline club with the songs: ‘Kids of the Multiuculture’, which was very appropriate to rise the spirits of Londoners, as many people can identify with the song’s lyrics; and ‘Virus’, both songs from their last self-titled work, which the band stated is their most personal one. After a member of the band had left, the group were in danger of splitting, according to Laila K, but they made the right decision of keep it together and it was like a new beginning for them. The five piece band showed a non-stop energy during the whole gig, jumping and chatting to the electrifying and multi-genre rhythm of their music.
There was also a moment when some phones were stolen in the midst of the crowd and the band members asked for the thief to give them back, but to no avail. Well, as another of their new songs says, ‘Karma is a bitch’, so be careful little robber, it will get back to you! The concert finished with the band’s old school classics, which most of the audience knew and with Laila getting in the middle of the crowd at the back of one of their fans. The weirdest moment of the night, was when suddenly they started to dance the choreography of Gangman Style, sunglasses included, and then kept on going as if nothing had happened. After that we can confirm that Gangmastyle’s fever is actually everywhere!
Keep on track, interview with Laila K and Barney Boom from Sonic Boom Six coming soon!
