Rodrigo y Gabriela on tour

The divinely gifted Rodrigo y Gabriela are heading towards the UK on tour with a 13-piece orchestra extension. Prepare to move.
Four years ago at a festival in Belgium, having crawled over to the main stage area with a menacing hangover, hoping to revive our bodies with some unknown artists, we came across Rodrigo y Gabriela. I remember this day very clearly because we had all been slumbering over the beer-filled patchy grass, probably dying of sun stroke and dehydration, when the dynamic duo hit their first chords and sent instant electric shock waves through the ground and into our blood streams. Since then the metal-influenced Mexican acoustic geniuses have continued to infect the blood streams of many on an international scale. This year they had released their new album, Area 52, and are heading towards the UK on tour.
The album was recorded in Havana, Cuba with an impressive 13-piece orchestra, known as C.U.B.A. It features reworked versions of some of Rodrigo y Gabriela’s best tracks, like ‘Tamacun, ‘Diablo Rojo’ and ‘Santa Domingo’. The collaboration is seriously impressive and the whole shebang are soon performing in the UK, so don’t miss out! Even for the laziest of dancers, your feet will be possessed by this mexicuban spell.
