The Prodigy revisit The Fat of the Land
Friday 19th October 2012 | David
The Essex-based trio will re-release their massive album The Fat of the Land to mark their 15th anniversary. The record will also include an EP featuring six remixes.
The Fat of the Land sold over 10 million copies following its 1997 release, and The Prodigy will reissue the record on 3rd December following 15 years of service to the big beat genre. The pioneering group have had several songs remixed for the occasion, including Major Lazer’s take on stand-out track ‘Smack My Bitch Up’. Other songs to be remixed are ‘Breathe’, ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Minefields’.
The band has been keeping busy of late by sponsoring a youth football team. Liam Howlett heard Eastleigh Reds Under 13s training to ‘Warrior’s Dance’ and now the youngsters have the band’s name and ant logo on their home shirts. I suppose it’s one way to pass the time between albums.
Speaking of which, the group’s sixth studio album, How to Steal a Jet Fighter, is due out sometime next year.
