The Smiths are "never, ever going to reunite", a spokesperson for Morrissey has claimed.

Wednesday 3rd October 2012 | Rebecca

Today the hipsters of the world mourn; worse than the day the Kings of Leon went mainstream or David Cameron admitted Dark side of the Moon was his favourite album, comes the emotional rollercoaster of the,  will they won’t they, reuniting of The Smiths.

The Smiths were the soundtrack that filled university halls and “really spoke truth” to 20 something’s for decades gone by and still to this day. In a musical world filled with Bruno Mars’ and Nicky Minaj’s, it seemed the holy grail of music had returned home.  Alas today those dreams have been shattered, and we must instead turn to Ed Sheeran for sad story lyrics. Unfortunately, he’s hopelessly unlikeable and instead we are left with old vinyl’s and an 80’s dream of a better time.

The singer's representative joins Johnny Marr's manager, Joe Moss, who yesterday told NME "It isn't happening", by telling Rolling Stone: "The Smiths are never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever going to reunite – ever."

When asked by Rolling Stone why a reunion could never happen, the spokesperson added: "You'd have to ask Morrissey that. There's got to be a story there, and maybe one day it will be told." It seems mystery surrounds this musical reconciliation as to why the band may not want to reform, on the other hand this spokesperson may have a great big shit covered spoon and an awfully tired wrist.

So it is with a heavy heart that I give you this sad news, but I will leave you with one of my favourite Smith’s covers , to show you a brighter future for Morrisey’s moving drones.
