JK Rowling, Harry Potter’s author, comes up this time with an adult fiction, The Casual Vacancy, which has gone straight to the top of the fiction charts.
From the Harry Porter’s magical world, JK Rowling has now landed into adult fiction where she is again applauded for her brilliant imagination and writing. She publishes her new novel, The Casual Vacancy which features grimy casual sex, self-harm, rape and heroin addiction. May be nobody ever dreamt off!
The Casual Vacancy has sold 124,603 copies in its first three days, 10 times more than its closest rival, 1356 by Bernard Cornwell. It is now the 15th best-selling book of the year so far. However, this novel has failed to touch sales of Rowling's seven Harry Potter titles as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sold more than 2.6 million copies in its first week in UK.
Many readers are just flabbergasted with Rowling's presence of mind for writing an entirely different genre. So why do you want to be the last one? Grab one and have an enjoyable and impressive read!
