Patent War- Samsung Vs Apple

Tuesday 2nd October 2012 | Shavy

Samsung adds iPhone 5 to its patent battle with Apple, claiming that Apple’s new handset infringes eight of its features.

Samsung and Apple war is the latest in a long running battle. Samsung recently paid Apple a damage of $ 1bn (£620m) because Apple won a victory over their claims that the Galaxy device maker copied the look and iOS system software found on its tablets and handsets.

It seems that Samsung is up for revenge as they are suing Apple over iPhone 5. The company claims that Apple has copied over eight of their features in iPhone 5.

Samsung wants Apple to obey the license on “fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory” terms. Samsung demands a fair payment from Apple if Apple wants to use its two so-called Frand patents.

The other six disputed innovations are feature patents, and in theory Samsung could force Apple's products off the shelves if it does not remove the functions from the devices.

The US lawsuit involving the iPhone 5 is due to go on trial in March 2014.
