Hot Wuk sizzles over to East Village
Monday 1st October 2012 | Olga
Who said the bashment bonanza ended with Notting Hill Carnival? Fools. For those of you who are real bashment fans, Heat Wave are bringing to you their Hot Wuk tour around England. The Brighton Ice Cream Bashment was a huge success, featuring the legendary General ‘Incredible’ Levy who brought the noise with his ragga vocal talents. The night had gone from ‘hot’ to ‘scorching’, with their back up dancer, Zizi, to keep the sweaty boogie going. The next stop on their tour is, sure enough, the London Lipgloss Bashment at the East Village, where you can expect to hear a good mixture of jungle, dubstep and dancehall, brought to you by Sticky. Apparently he’s so good that he “eats bashment on toast for breakfast”.
For those of you who don’t already know, bashment (also known as dancehall) originates mostly from reggae, r&b, and dub. In some parts of the Caribbean the term inherently signifies ‘party’- so be sure to pull on your party pants and pull out your most scandalous moves this Friday!
This event will take place on the 5th October from 21:30 till 3:30 at East Village. Buy your tickets for £10 online or £15 on the door.
Here is a taste for those of you, who are still undecided or those of you who will be pre-drinking at home!
