ITV2 Brings X Factor USA to England TV Screens and the Judges cause a splash
Last Night, ITV finally brought us what everyone around the world has been talking about. New X-Factor USA. And honestly, the talent show is not what everyone has been discussing and not why people are tuning in. What has been the talk of the town is brand new judges Demi Lovato and Miss Britney Spears.
The dynamic between the girls and Simon Cowell is worth discussing as he acts almost fatherly towards them, it is kind of adorable to see his soft side, but if you like the old Simon, he is still there. He asked a 14 year old boy what his favourite animal was and when the excited young man answered, "Puppies" Simon responded, "Well you better go out and buy one so that you can remember this as a good day because you can't sing." That child's face fell faster than I would believe was humanly possible.
Demi Lovato was lovely in her youthful addition to the team, made up to the nines and being supportive of everyone who tried but the real shocker was Britney. For the most part, in her career, she has been a face, an unreachable idol and papparazzi chased figure. To be fair, it is kind of nice to see her become personable. She is actually just brutally honest. She is not like Simon, attempting to be cruel and amusing. She is not like LA Reid who is just there for his knowledge and she is not like Lovato who appears vulnerable. She just is. And it makes for entirely hilarious television.
Here is my favourite moment from last night where she shows a defensive side to her personality (probably comes from being a Mumma) when Miss Lovato is attacked by yet another stubborn though talentless, wannabe. Brilliant. Tune in every Thursday on ITV2 or catch up on ITVPlayer for more Britney antics.
