Ever visited the grandparents thinking: "what would really top off these werthers originals is a nice tequila sunrise"? Well fear no more, now that paisley wallpaper making your eyes cross over can be softened by a stiff drink in a china chalice, the cup and saucer.
Bourne and Holligsworth is a bar whispered about around the back streets of the secret London pub world, and now its treasure hunt location has become even more illicit. Teaming up with The Fourth Wall, this Granny’s speak-easy has become a pop-up bar, changing locations with every apparition, opening Fridays and Saturdays between 5pm and 1am.
So how do you get an invite to this old fashioned knees up? You must enter The Fourth Wall website, send them an email, or give them a call and simply wish for the best. A few days before the event you will be sent a cryptic clue to work out the location and then hopfully having Bear Grylls on Sky plus one will help your orienteering skills in the urban jungle. Drinks will set you back between £7 and £8 but it’s so worth it for the novelty.
As I sit hit here writing this article I am on the edge of my seat waiting for my confirmation email, blue rinse settling into my hair and tan stockings up to my knees ready for a granny swinging night.
