Celebrating 20 years since their legendary debut album Mecca and The Soul Brother, hip hop legends Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth will take up a three-day residency at Camden’s Jazz Club this October.
Calling Mount Vernon in New York their home, the pair revolutionised the sound of early 90’s hip hop, blending Rock’s horn-driven samples with Smooth’s distinctive philosophy and style of delivery. Together, they brought the world classic tracks like ‘They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y)’, an emotional protest song widely accepted as one of the greatest in hip hop.
In recent years, the pair separated to pursue other projects, but now back in full swing after joining up in 2010, the soul-tight brothers are set to impress London crowds with their signature horn-loops and verbal brilliance.
Catch tickets if you can for Sunday 28th, Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th October.
