Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s new album to be released this autumn

Other | Tuesday 28th August 2012 | Osh

Psychedelic Pill is the second album they will release this year, but the first with new material since 2003

Canadian 66 year old musician Neil Young and his band Crazy Horse return to the music scene with Psychedelic Pill, a new album that will be released this October and which has been recorded just after Americana, an American folk covers disc they released in June. Neil Young’s 35th studio album will be available in double CD, digital and Blu-ray with videos of each of the songs. At the beginning of August they launched their first tour in more than 8 years, where they performed some of the new LP songs such as the 20 minute Walk like a giant and the song that names the album Psychedelic Pill. Crazy Horse’s guitarist Frank “Poncho” Sampedro told Rolling Stone magazine about the song: “That song began in the studio when Neil sat down at the piano and began playing chords. Ralph [Molina] was on drums and he started this beat on the snare and wouldn't stop for nearly an hour. We stood up and played it and realized it was a great song. We just haven't performed it that great yet, but we're getting more comfortable every night”. The band is taking a break right now, but will jump back on to the scene again in September.
