If you needed any more proof that music unites people, then Israeli Heavy Metal band Orphaned Land could be that proof.
In recent years, as Israel’s relationship with the Arab and Muslim worlds has gone from bad to worse, Orphaned Land’s music has been an unlikely force for change and peace. Controversial, and even dangerous, as it is to be their fan, Orphaned Land has attracted a huge following from all backgrounds and all sides of the divide.
With lyrics in English, Arabic and Hebrew, their music has been described by fans transforming the way in which they understand one another and the conflict, and gets them thinking about the potential for peace in the future. Now that really would be some good news!
