First of all...I just want to say a BIG thank you to Akon, for those of you who don't know why, I'll tell you.
Without people like Akon, then artists such as British rapper on Sway and Nigerians own P Square would not be given great opportunities to show off their talents. Akon who is a successful musician as well as a successful business man, has set out a new motive in life, which sees him bringing African music to the masses.
What better person to have backing you thank the Konvict Music man himself, he's track record speaks for itself, apart from the tunes he's given us, he's helped kick start the careers of successful artists such as T-Pain, Wale, Kardinal Offishal and even Lady Gaga! All of whom have gone on to break many music related records. It's no doubt that Akons work level is right up there with the best. His latest venture sees him signing Nigerian superstars P Square, twin brothers who have been dropping hit after hit over in the West side of Africa. It seems Akon has big plans for the duo as their latest single to be released from Konvict Music record label sees P Square team up with one of the biggest names in hip hop right now, the one and only rap demolisher Rick Ross.
The single titled ‘Beautiful Onyinye’ shows the pair serenading beautiful women on a yacht, before the boss Rick Ross comes in to lay down some mellow but hard hitting lyrics; Akon also makes a cameo in the video.
It seems the time has finally come for African music to take its stand on the podium amongst other genres of music, I mean with Kanye West signing D’Banj, Akon signing WizKid, P Square and 2Face, and not to mention the amount of African influenced dances coming out every other week, that the Afro Beat genre is on its way to being one to reckon with.
