A Preview to the Hackney Big Weekend!

Having been lucky enough to attend Radio 1’s Big Weekend when it descended on Carlisle last year i wasn’t optimistic at my chances of winning tickets for the Radio 1 extravaganza being held on the Hackney Downs in a couple of weeks, but an endless couple of hours sat hitting refresh on the computer i managed to get my tickets and what a lineup to win them for.
The festival type set up will run over Saturday the 24th June and Sunday the 25th with a anyone who’s anyone at the moment gracing the numerous stages.
The saturday will see the likes of Kasabian, Nicki Minaj and Ed Sheeran take to the main stage with the ‘In New Music We Trust’ stage welcoming acts such as The Vaccines, The Macabees and Rita Ora. N Dubz star Dappy, Emeli Sande and DJ Fresh will perform on the Radio 1Xtra stage and massive dance acts such Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia will be rocking the dance arena.
To quash the anticipation of the huge headliner, the one and only, Jay-Z who will appear on the Saturday evening, ticket winners will be able to soak up the atmosphere at the outside bars and shops.
Sunday promises to be just as huge, Florence + The Machine, Jessie J and Professor Green will be gracing the main stage and all going well with her recent health scares Rihanna will be headlining. Ben Howard, Wretch 32, Pete Tong among many many more will be performign throughout the day.
If you haven’t been lucky enough to acquire tickets then don’t worry the concerts will be fully televised and listenable to on Radio 1 throughout the two days.
