This London-based designer is certainly not to be labelled as ‘subtle,’ after graduating from the University of Brighton back in 2003, the accessory and prop designer has been unstoppable in producing outstanding pieces which has caught the attention of both the fashion and music industry. Drenched in sumptuous and metallic colours in the form of geometric and alternative shapes, her intricate accessories and jewellery are a unique mixture of materials which resemble the naturalistic features of crystals and gemstones. Her hypnotic style has certainly got herself noticed within the fashion and music world, in particular Fred Butler has fabricated a clientele of music artists who have featured her accessories in their music videos and album covers, artists such as; La Roux, The Gossip, Little Boots, Partick Wolf, Maria & The Diamonds, Skunk Ananise. Butler is famously known for designing ‘The Telephone hat’ which featured in Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” music video. Unlike most designers, Butler’s concept uses three dimensions in an experimental setting when designing her accessories and props, as opposed to sketching in order to create the aesthetically pleasing pieces. Like a little girl’s play-box, Butler’s designs are vibrant, bold, unforgettable trinkets which have successfully landed her well deserved mark in the fashion world.
