Londoners, think you want to travel? Well, maybe you’d be better off staying at home- London was just voted the world’s best holiday destination!
2012 is shaping up to be a golden year for London. First the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in June, then the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and now the city has even been voted the best place to be in 2012 by Trip Advisor travellers.
The UK’s capital city beat some tough competitors like New-York, Rome and Paris. In a list of the best UK destinations, Edinburgh was second, Liverpool third and Torquay in Devon fourth. For the full list of the 2012 Travellers Choice Destination Awards winners visit tripadvisor.co.uk
London also scored the hat trick of being named the Best Global Destination, Best European Destination and Best UK destination.
Maybe all these travellers have met The Guestlist Network, who knows? Emma Shaw, Trip Advisor spokesperson, commented, “To be crowned the World’s Best Destination in the Olympic year by millions of travellers is a tremendous honour for London. It’s fantastic to see the capital recognised and rewarded by those that have really experienced the city – travellers themselves.”
