Van Der Horst for Topshop
This new Spring/Summer capsule collection by Maarten Van der Horst will be composed of seven iconic pieces. The collection is focussed on a range of textures combined with strong colours and graphic prints. This includes a single breasted jacquard jacket, high-waisted Bermuda shorts, silk button down dresses, t-shirts, tops and cycling shorts. While each piece has its own personality, they are not unworkable.
The loud jungle prints are daringly exotic and a little bit eccentric. The prints vary slightly among the pieces, enough to be a stand out in their own right, or clash flatteringly together. Van Der Horst’s hot prints instantly update quiet button dresses if you’re feeling innocent, or boost blazers if you need to be noticed. These affordable fashion statements can be easily paired with pop colour tops and summer sandals for a tropical look in the heat of the urban jungle. Van Der Horst studied and graduated at the ArtEZ Institute of the Arts in Holland, and then at Central Saint Martins London and continues to challenge London trends by bringing the pattern fever from the catwalk to the high street.
