Google’s new glasses

Thursday 12th April 2012 | Osh

Google has just unveiled its new revolutionary project: Project Glass. And being a ‘four-eyes’ has never been so cool!

Taken straight out of the Google’s team imagination, Project Glass seems to come directly from the future in order to make our life easier. Dubbed as “wearable computing”, this new trend is expected to overtake Terminator.

Resorting to the augmented reality, Project Glass is a pair of spectacles that interacts with you and with what you are seeing. It is multifunctional, acting as a smartphone, day planner, turn- by- turn navigation system, camera and boasts 14 different services.

The team working on the project in its secretive “Google X” labs, will be testing the product this summer. The first pictures with prototypes worn by employees have been unveiled!

The Android operating system that appears to be both voice- controlled and view- controlled, is composed of icons so that the wearer is able to interact with them and do much of what a smartphone can. The glasses attempt to interact with the world that it sees in front of and around the wearer, "augmenting" or supplementing the reality that the person experiences.

Join the Google+ page to keep up with their work and submit ideas about what you want Google glasses to be able to do. The glasses will be available to the public for around $250 to $600 dollars by the end of 2012.
