The dubstep star said he also turned down the chance to collaborate with Foo Fighters and Deadmau5.
The electronic artist, real name Sonny Moore, said he "gets it" when people slag him off. He said, “I don’t care if people hate me, I mean I get it. When you were young, you were like, ‘The Backstreet Boys are gay.”
He also said that young people using computers are responsible for posting comments like ‘faggot’ and ‘bitch’ but he doesn’t pay much attention.
He explained how he turned down the chance to work with iconic musicians at The Grammys. “All due respect to all those artists, but that’s not what I do. I don’t play on TV. My performances are different because you’re captivated more by everything around you rather than just staring at something... It’s not something you can capture on the Grammys.”
He also added that he never wanted to be in the spotlight but he just wants to make music, hang out with his friends and have a fun, crazy time.
Skrillex will headline this summer’s South West Four Weekender.
