Venue of the Month

Venue of the month for me has to go to the legendary ministry of sound whose listings this month include dirty dutch ace chuckie for the mixmag live tour at the village underground on 16th March .They also feature the enormous funk farm night featuring the one of the best residents Michael Woods and the up and coming funkagenda who has been making big waves in the house circuit. This event takes place on 17th March.
The next weekend brings the house and dance legends Basement Jaxx to the venue on the 24th March. Once again this club draws in the massive acts which are testament to the clubs status as within the dance music circuit.
The following weekend Ministry turn up the heat again by bringing in the Techno legend Markus Schulz for the ever popular Gallery night on Friday 30th March, one of the longest running Techno Dj’s around that night is going to be sold out well in advance, he is supported by kyau&albert who released some big tunes last year such as “A night like this”.
These listings show how big the dance scene is getting and how ministry is able to keep bringing in the best acts week after week.
The club is renowned for it epic sound system in the box room, but the clubs appeal goes far beyond the sound being pumped out. The vibe inside has always been about the music, yeah it’s a big club so it has the Saturday night crowd bearing upon it each week, but at its heart is the underground and continuing ambition to push new music and keep things fresh, and also to push and play the music its artists and DJ’s want in a time when house and dance music is all over the radio and getting bigger by the day. This is what makes ministry of sound venue of the month .
