John Lennon And Paul McCartney Childhood Homes Get Heritage Listing

Thursday 1st March 2012 | Osh

The childhood homes in Liverpool of the two Beatles legends have a grade II ranking meaning they are ‘nationally important and of special interest.’
John was raised at 251 Menlove Avenue, Woolton by his Aunt Mimi, while Paul grew up in Allerton at 20 Forthlin Road.
Many of the songs composed for the Beatles in the early days were written in the houses.
Paul lived there from age 13 to 22 and John lived in his house from age five to 22.
The first number one hit for the Beatles, ‘Please Please Me’, was written in John’s house.
