Brian May ‘Doesn’t Understand’ Modern Music

The Queen star, one of the most talented guitarists in the world, is puzzled by the charts these days. The type of rock music that made him famous isn’t as popular in this generation as it once was. Dance and R&B tunes now dominate the music industry.
Brian doesn’t know why tastes have changed so much. He said ‘I was driving around in the car and I had (UK music station) Radio 1 on and basically I don’t understand a lot. I think I’m too old to understand it.’
Queen are set to make a comeback with a series of shows later in the year. Adam Lambert, star of American Idol, will front the performance in place of the legendary icon Freddie Mercury.
Brian came second place in the reality show, and Brian said he knew he wanted to work with him as soon as he saw him.
He is excited about the tour and said it is very different and new. ‘Adam has made a sensation really and has an incredible voice. I was instantly drawn to him.’ He praised him for his impressive vocal range, and even said Freddie would be ‘pretty amazed.’
