Substitute Teacher Arrested For Allegedly Twisting A Male Teenage Student’s Nipples

A supply teacher from Bronx has been arrested after allegedly twisting a student’s nipples in school.
Chukwuma Duru, 27, was charged with forcible touching, harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. He was a substitute at Bronx Career and College Prep High School in Morrisania.
According to the 16 year old student, Duru touched his nipples inappropriately on two separate instances on 10th February. Duru was released without bail.
Amarachi Duru, his sister, said that he is an extremely religious man who is getting his masters, and that any charges against him were a ‘misunderstanding.’ She is obviously upset at the accusations and says that it’s not something her brother would do.
Duru was suspended from his job when he was arrested and has been a substitute in city schools only since December 2011.
The education department said a criminal background check on Duru turned up nothing and that he had no prior investigations in schools.
