As he toasted Coldplay’s Brit awards win, front man Chris Martin joked that he and bandmates are planning to open a theme park in honour of JLS.
They were named as best British group at the prestigious awards show, and when asked what their future plans were they further joked ‘We’d like to land a big modelling campaign. As a group, we’d like to do our own perfume.’ They are clearly making fun of musicians who use their position for other endorsements that aren’t related to music.
‘We’ve got a few restaurant ideas and we’re thinking of opening a JLS theme park. You heard it here first.’
In a self deprecating turn the band were very modest claiming they only won because they are the only British band that is still together.
Chris said ‘Blur have gone. Pulp have gone. Oasis have gone. Radiohead aren’t interested- they would win it every year if they wanted to. Take that are on holiday. So we’ll take it if they’re not around.’
Coldplay beat Chase &Status, Elbow, Kasabian and Arctic Monkeys to the sought after award.
