Jamais Vu @ Horse & Groom 19th Feb

On a chilly Sunday night in February, we headed down to the Horse & Groom in Shoreditch to warm our cockles at the opening party of new weekly Sunday session, Jamais Vu. True to its name, the launch was a familiar kind of event with an unfamiliarly uplifting vibe, with liquid funk from Tendai and founding-father Fabio, and choice hip hop cuts from Choice FM’s DJ 279.
Tendai kicked off proceedings with his usual brand of soulful drum & bass and seamless mixing that has made him an unsung yet hugely respected DJ on the circuit. Mixology maestro DJ 279 then switched up the vibe with an array of hippity- hop crowd pleasers that got the place bouncing and the drinks flowing. By the time liquid- funk luminary Fabio had made his way behind the decks, it had already become a hazy affair of good vibes. Never one to disappoint, Fabio brought his customarily deep and melodic ilk of drum & bass that’s made his residency night Swerve a stalwart of the London scene, and took us bubbling through right to the end.
A sensationally fun inauguration for Shoreditch’s supreme new weekly event. Check the twitter for updates on forthcoming parties! https://twitter.com/#!/jamaisvuparty
