A medical doctor and cycling enthusiast has set himself a remarkable challenge, to cycle the length of six continents.
Steve Fabes, 31 is attempting the 5- year journey covering 60 countries and 80,000 km. He thinks that Africa is a life affirming place. Triple gold medal winning Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy described him as ‘hugely ambitious and inspirational.’
This isn’t just a crazy bike ride with no purpose though- Steve’s journey will raise money for medical charity Merlin, and has already achieved nearly £20,000 in donations!
Fabes said ‘Like all decisions of great consequence my plan to cycle around the world was made in a pub, beer in one hand, mini- atlas in the other.’
