Gospel and RnB singer David Peaston has died aged 54.
It was revealed by his niece, Neuka Mitchell, that he passed away on Wednesday from diabetes complications. The musician is best known for his highest charting single, Two Wrongs, which reached number three in 1989. His career started after winning many competitions on the TV Show, Showtime at the Apollo in the 80's. Since then, he had many hits throughout the 80's and 90's.
Winning a Soul Train Music Award for the Best New RnB/ Soul or Rap artist, he beat Soul II Soul in 1990. He returned to music in 2006 with the album Song Book: Songs of Soul and Inspiration after surviving a period off ill health which led to both of his legs being amputated.
