three year old writes a letter of complaint to Sainsbury's about the name of bread

Thursday 2nd February 2012 | Osh

Sainsburys has changed ‘Tiger’ bread to ‘Giraffe’ bread after a three year old girl wrote in to complain.

The popular food chain has taken note of a toddler’s suggestion that the splotches on the crust resemble a giraffe more than a tiger.  Lily Robinson, 3, wrote the letter eight months ago and the new loaves went on sale at the end of January.

Chris King, Sainsbury’s customer manager, happened to agree with the girl and even responded.  ‘I think renaming the bread giraffe bread is a brilliant idea- it does look more like the blotches on a giraffe than the stripes on a tiger, doesn’t it?’

He then went on to explain the origins of Tiger bread and even included a £3 voucher to buy some bread and ‘maybe sweeties too! (if mum and dad let her)’.  Maybe this bright little girl has a shiny future in marketing!
