Wacky ways of predicting future

Other | Thursday 2nd February 2012 | Osh

There are always more than a million ways of predicting future. Here are the some wacky ways to do the so-called fortune telling. Just get yourself to the local groceries then you’ll be able to try most of them!

Magic asparagus wands: Jemima Packington, 56, uses ‘asparagusing’ to tell the future. This can be done by simply throwing spears of asparagus up in the air. Packington would be able to reveal the meaning according to how the asparagus land on the ground.

Cheesy cheese: A method called ‘tyromancy’ was invented by the young country girls in the Middle Ages with the use of cheese. They would write the names of prospective suitors on the cheese. The name where the mould grew first would be the ideal love match.

Egged On: Eggs were commonly used by fortune tellers for cooks in ancient China. They would paint the egg in a specific way and boil it in water. The patterns in the cracks were used to tell the fortune of the cook.

Your Fortune Onion: Get yourself an onion and write your name on it. The faster it sprouts, the better your health and happiness would be! But, wouldn’t it be a bad news if the onion never sprouts?
