Pop Music Overtakes Rock Music for the First Time in 7 Years

Pop music takes over rock music for the first time in 7 years in 2011. Adele was one of the biggest contributors with with her album 21. Jessie J and Lady Gaga we also amongst the top sellers for pop. Noel Gallagher and Coldplay contributed strong efforts to rock music, Coldplay even had the fastest selling digital album ever with Xyloto selling over 800,000 copies in its first week, but were still unsuccessful is knocking pop acts off the top spot.
