Sniper 11 EP Wednesday 23rd November 2011 | Osh Ex-So Solid Crew member takes a heavier turn into solo career with new release. It seems a huge number of artists nowadays are taking an interesting step up from the standard; write a tune, release it, perform it. Sniper, who made his musical debut in UK garage’s most familiar and award-winning group, So Solid Crew, is one of these artists who is taking their promotion to new levels with help from that handy little thing called the internet. With his new seemingly rock influenced 11 EP, the former garage and grime star decided to do a fully live performance on radio, TV, at record release parties and on his YouTube channel on the date 11.11.11 across 10 different platforms around the world including London’s Choice FM (107.1) and a party in Cyprus, where he’s originally from. In over 11 minutes of live music from himself and his backing band we saw a new side to Sniper whose lyrics focus on politics and his view on our lack of freedom in society. In the decade since his reach to fame whilst with So Solid Crew it seems our man Mr Sniper has gone through a bit of a style transformation musically as well as in fashion. The second tune they played on the live performance had a much dancier feel but still carried with it an essence of rock - think something along the lines of The Prodigy, or even better check him out at www.the11ep.com to find out first hand!
