This November 5th, one of Hackney's historical landmarks the ‘ArtHaus’ opens its doors for an alternative evening of festivities. A one-off evening of visual Art, installation and performance, Bonfire Lounge promises to deliver a truly authentic and unique Bonfire Night experience.
Against an external backdrop of bangs, cracks and smoke, internally a more subdued, relaxed atmosphere will shelter the attending guests with complimentary Mulled wine, Fine Art, Interactive projections, documentary film, poetry, performance art and acoustic music from the finest emerging talent.
Referencing textures of recent events in Hackney and the creative history of one of Hackneys’ historical landmarks; ‘Arthaus.’ This one of a kind event attempts to question the idea of an annual national celebration involving murder, torture and fire! Dragging into context the recent riots, the aesthetic pull of explosions and the importance of fire in contemporary society and protest
With performances singed with topical references, these emerging talented performers and Artists will all share their individual voice in a climate dominated by riots & political unrest.
