Tristan Garner Comes To London...
Are you staying in London for long? Where are you off to next?
I won't stay for long unfortunately, my October schedule is quite crazy, between several studio sessions and a tour in Canada / USA.
Are you looking forward to playing Proud 2?
Do you want to hear something funny? I'm touring a lot around the world now, from USA to Australia, Brazil, India, Russia to name a few, but I've never played in London!!! So I'm really excited to rock Proud 2!
What’s your favourite thing about London?
Shopping!!! I'm addicted to London jeans and vintage shoes!!!
So you launched Xtra Life Records last year, what’s going on with that at the moment aside from the ‘Overdrive’ release?
I’ve got several records planned and I can't wait to release them! And Xtra Life is more than a record label; it's also my weekly radio show and some big parties in Paris! The next one is planned for 14th October at legendary Queen Club Paris.
You’ve been working on some high profile remixes for the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Avicii and Tiesto. Who would you most like to work with that you haven’t done so as of yet?
It seems like the top 10 Trance DJ’s love my sound at the moment. Cosmic Gate just ordered me a new remix! But my dream would be to collaborate with Axwell! This guy is just a genius!
You’ve had a couple of strong releases out with fellow French DJ Gregori Klosman, have you guys been working on any new projects together in the studio recently?
Yeah ! You know, now we're a bit stressed as our last 2 collaborations were big club hits. So we definitely need to produce something new. So at the moment we're more into looking for new sounds.
You toured Australia for the first time back in September, how was that for you?
Crazy! I didn't expect so much love about my tracks there. And I just discovered I won an award for a remix I did for an Australian Band 6 months ago!!! (Tonite Only - We run the night). I will come back very soon for their summer festival season.
Your just about to release your latest production ‘Overdrive’ on your own Xtra Life label, what’s the reaction been like to the track so far?
Reactions from fans and feedbacks from big names are huge!!! And with Amsterdam Dance Event coming, it's perfect timing!!!
Did you manage to get over to Ibiza much this season?
I played 2 times at Amnesia Ibiza this summer, for my friend Brian Cross. I loved the vibe there, and i really hope to have more gigs there next summer.
What’s does the rest of 2011 have in store for Tristan Garner?
Time for major changes in my life, productions, live sets etc... It's a crucial year for me as I'll probably release a big new album, and even a movie! So stay tuned!!! :)
