Mitch Winehouse is due to launch The Amy Winehouse Foundation on Wednesday as a lasting legacy to his late daughter.
The charity will provide support and services for young drug addicts in London and Mitch says he is confident his family’s efforts “will turn their grief into positive action.” Speaking during a recent interview with American journalist Anderson Cooper, Mitch Winehouse said recent toxicological reports found the anti-anxiety drug Librium in her system.
Winehouse allegedly used the drug to detox from alcohol but Mitch claims she may have overdosed and subsequently suffered a seizure.
Mitch and his family spoke to the chat show host to promote the charitable foundation and Cooper very generously donated $50,000 to their cause.
