Snoopy's back!

So following the furore of last weeks murders at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, the head of M15 has called for more powers to snoop, whilst David Cameron ridiculously called for no 'dark part of the internet' left unturned. Nick Clegg put it that Cameron's policy could lead to the prevention of all UK citizens from using services like Snapchat and Whatsapp that delete messages immediately.
Sounds like bullshit. The only way that invading privacy can help the government protect us from tragedies like that is for the powers that be were able to see everything - all the time and we are not sure that we are ready to give up any and all our privacy yet.
They had all the powers they needed to have surveillance on the 2 Parisian killers as with the 2 murderers of Lee Rigby in Woolwhich, all suspects had been under the watchful eyes of security services and each time they had been decided that they were not a threat.
Maybe the security services should be thinking more about how to manage the threats they know about than spending time looking for more. These laws would NOT have prevented these attacks. They are an attack on our freedoms whispered under the storm of protecting our freedoms.
