Who doesn’t need some good news to brighten a sad, cold, Monday morning? Our hearts were warmed today with the story of Manuel Parisseaux.
Manuel is a young Frenchman with Down's Syndrome. This birthday was his best ever, with all his wishes coming true without the need of presents, all Manuel needed was the good will of complete strangers.
Manuel’s father, Lucien, appealed to his 23 friends on Facebook to send his son a birthday card for his 30th birthday and kindly requesting them to share with their friends too. Little did he know that his son would receive 42,000 (and counting) postcards from all over the world. The pair were positively overwhelmed with the phenomenal response they received.
His father spoke out to all his newfound Facebook followers,
“Manu wants to read letter by letter, card by card. One day he will read them all,” he wrote.
Lucien went on to invite publishers to contact him regarding creating a collection of all the heart-warming wishes he had received and sharing all of the beautiful stories.
All in all, the fact that by just sharing his post with 23 friends (considered a small amount to most of us), this message of love was able to reach over 42,000 people and a young guys birthday was fulfilled beyond his wildest dreams, is pretty special.
