Flying Lotus Roundhouse Review

‘Tonight I’m gonna make you feel something...’ came a voice from behind a strategically placed transparent screen. No one quite knows how to grip a crowd like Steven Ellison, AKA Flying Lotus. Dressed in a tuxedo FlyLo made his way to the front of the stage, greeted fans at the front and proceeded to his high tech decks while adjusting glowing goggles around his eyes. With one of the most diverse crowds, Camden roundhouse was a perfect spot for the Psycadellic DJ to showcase his new album You’re Dead!
With ‘Coronus, The Terminator’ a giant stilt wearing Grim reaper trolling around the audience paired with Flylos infamous visuals blaring on two over lapping screens it was a feast of fuckery for your eyes and thick slab of gooey goodness for your ears.
Coming out from behind his trippy viel, Ellison revealed himself as Captain Murphy and performed a few songs at the front of the stage getting people in a massive frenzy. Also, he is well hench.
The show was a hit, even while people were scrambling for the last of the merch, FlyLo stood by the fences signing vinyl records people brought with them. Touching. Some people fainted and some he recognised from previous shows. Although the show was short and tame, it was an experience like no other, will be sure to double drop next time.
Flying Lotus is performing April at Brixton Academy, you can get to his next show here:
